Getting to Zero: 2012 Status Update

"Getting To Zero 2012 Status Update: A First Look at the Costs and Features of Zero Energy Commercial Buildings" presents information on characteristics, incremental costs, and design features of zero energy buildings (ZEBs). ZEBs are buildings that generate renewable energy onsite, over the course of the year, at least as great at the total amount of energy they used in that year. The 2012 report demonstrates that ZEBs are achievable and feasible for some building types with current technologies and that incremental costs for increased efficiencies are within a reasonable range.
