Stephen Foster Elementary School in Gainesville, Florida, will be watching its garden grow this semester. About 30 volunteers consisting of staff, students, parents and other community members built ten 3-foot-by-8-foot organic garden beds on the school grounds. The garden will be incorporated into math and science lessons during the semester in a variety of ways, from teaching students how to collect data to learning about insects.
