Cities and Towns Planning for a Sustainable Future

With help from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities' Green Fund, many communities across Canada are creating sustainable community plans for their municipalities. Montreal was a recipient of a FCM Green Fund grant and has been working on implementing its ambitious multi-faceted plan over the last five years.

The FCM defines a sustainable community plan as a long-term plan, developed in consultation with community members that provides direction for the community to realize sustain-ability objectives it has for the environmental, cultural, social and economic dimensions of its identity.
