New York steps up funding for small wind turbines
E-mail Print

The state of New York has stepped up its funding for incentives to support installation of small wind turbines, making $16.6 million available for the next five years.

The move comes after two years of a program that has seen $1.8 million supporting 61 small wind projects, totaling 1.2 megawatts of generating capacity.

The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority said the Customer-Sited Wind Turbine Incentive would allow consumers, developers, farmers and others to secure up to 30% of purchase and installation costs for small wind turbines generating renewable energy on-site.
