“I’ve seen them making a lot of great connections to the foods that they eat at home and they have a stronger desire to eat these foods at home if they haven’t already,” said Melissa Tobias, education coordinator for the Fresh from the Farm program, after teaching the children about herbs and basil. “Going home and asking their parents to buy apples, or grapes, or spinach. That makes a big difference.”
